Carnival Nights

Taken at the fairground and parking-lot based traveling carnivals of the East End of Long Island at dusk and evening, figures in shadow play off against the carnival’s many light sources (halogen, fluorescent, tungsten) creating an odd color palette resulting in a surreal landscape. Seemingly enveloped by this twilight/evening domain that is low-lit with color casts and shadows, children and adults alike are often seen in dream-like reverie.
