Flowering

— Preserving Beauty

As flowers reach their peak bloom and begin to decay, we are reminded of the fragility and temporality of their beauty. In the “Preserving Beauty” series, cut flowers are frozen in time and embedded in a digitally colorized surround to permanently offset their inevitable decline. In this series of pigment prints, beauty and decay are not warring impulses but co-exist, the very lusciousness of the bloom infused with the melancholy of their fate.
